Summary:  This is Ivan’s story.  Ivan is a gorilla who spent 27 years in captivity as the Exit 8 Great Ape.  We hear Ivan’s story and meet Stella, Ruby and Bob the dog.  This book makes you fall in love with Ivan.  You want a better world for Ivan and the friendship promise endures throughout the story.

I would recommend this book to everyone.  It reminds me of Charlotte’s Web.  We learn about friendship and how to treat animals.  Ivan is a character you will never forget.
